About Alissa Kleywegt, DNP

Alissa Kleywegt, DNP joined The Iowa Clinic North Waukee Family Medicine team, bringing a wealth of knowledge and a passion for patient-centered care. Working at TIC as a registered nurse for four years, she chose to continue her career as a nurse practitioner, inspired by her experiences with both coworkers and patients. Alissa chose family medicine because it allows her to care for patients of all ages. She finds the most rewarding part of her work to be personalizing every interaction and connecting with her patients, learning about their families, lives, and experiences beyond their health.

Outside of work, Alissa enjoys spending time with her family, savoring a warm cup of coffee, and traveling whenever possible. She and her husband share a love of wildlife and often visit the zoo with their son. If she weren’t a healthcare provider, Alissa would pursue her love for traveling by starting her own travel blog.
