About McKenzie Nuss, DNP

McKenzie Nuss, DNP, joined The Iowa Clinic's Pulmonary department after four years of dedicated service as a nurse within the same specialty. Her extensive experience in hospital settings fueled her desire to work in an environment where she could build lasting relationships with her patients. The Clinic’s collaborative care model, coupled with her personal connection—her grandfather was a former provider—made The Iowa Clinic a perfect fit for McKenzie. She finds great fulfillment in educating her patients about their diagnoses, empowering them with the knowledge they need to take control of their health.

A native of Des Moines, McKenzie cherishes time with her friends and family, enjoys reading, cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes, celebrating the occasional Chicago Bears win, and coaching her nephew’s soccer team. If she weren’t a healthcare provider, she might have pursued a career as a veterinarian.
