What is worker's compensation?
If you become sick or injured due to a work-related task, workers’ compensation is a form of insurance that will kick in to help replace lost wages and assist with necessary medical treatment. Workers’ compensation will not cover anything that was done intentionally or that was done while under the influence of any substance.

Physical therapy can play a crucial role in workers’ comp related injuries. It’s likely that every worker’s comp injury that is seen by an Iowa Clinic physical therapist will be different. It could be anything from a strained back muscle from lifting a heavy object or a more severe injury due to a fall. It’s important to note that the therapy you receive due to workers’ compensation will not differ from any other form of physical therapy that we provide. All tactics and methods will used will be processes that we use on all patients. We want to help you heal and become stronger just as we do with every other patient that comes through our doors.
What are benefits of worker's compensation physical therapy?

While your physical therapist will guide you to recovery, it’s also important for you to stay committed to your recovery do any extra work on your end that is requested such as stretching or at home exercises. These are provided to help you speed up recovery. Additionally, always communicate with your physical therapist if you incur any new pain or limitation so they can help address it.
