What is Latisse®?
Latisse® is the first and only FDA-approved prescription treatment to help eyelashes grow longer, fuller, and darker. It is a topical solution that is applied to the base of the upper eyelashes once a day. Latisse® works by increasing the growth phase of the eyelash hair cycle and prolonging the life of each eyelash.
Is Latisse® safe?
Latisse® is safe and effective for most people over the age of 18, including those with sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. However, it is important to talk to The Iowa Clinic Medical Spa staff before starting Latisse® to make sure it is right for you.
How long before I see results using Latisse®?
Most people start to see results from Latisse® within 4-6 weeks of use. However, it can take up to 16 weeks to see full results. Once you have achieved your desired results, you can maintain your results by using Latisse® once a day, indefinitely.
Does Latisse® have any side effects?
Latisse® is generally well-tolerated. However, some people may experience mild side effects, such as:
- Eye redness
- Itching
- Burning
- Stinging
- Dry eyes
- Watery eyes
- Blurred vision
These side effects are usually mild and temporary. If you experience any side effects that are severe or persistent, talk to your aesthetician.
