What is MonaLisa Touch?

MonaLisa Touch is a minimally invasive procedure that uses fractional CO2 laser technology to ablate small micro-columns of tissue. This leaves an ecosystem of healthy unaffected tissue to support rapid healing.

Who needs MonaLisa Touch?

After menopause, women may suffer from changes in their gynecologic health that affect their personal lives. MonaLisa Touch is a simple, proven laser to help you feel like yourself again. This minimally invasive laser treatment is used to treat vaginal dryness and other symptoms of vaginal atrophy.

Vaginal atrophy is a condition that occurs when the lining of the vagina becomes thinner and less elastic. This can cause a variety of symptoms, including:

  • Dryness
  • Itching
  • Pain during intercourse
  • Urinary incontinence

What are the benefits of MonaLisa Touch?

Mona Lisa Touch is an in-office procedure, that is usually less than five minutes. Thousands of women have chosen MonaLisa Touch since 2012.

Some benefits include:

  • Non-hormonal, chemical-free
  • Virtually no downtime
  • Minimal side effects

How does MonaLisa Touch work?

MonaLisa Touch laser treatment works by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin in the vaginal tissue. This can help to improve the thickness, elasticity, and hydration of the vaginal tissue.

The in-office procedure typically does not need anesthesia and lasts about five minutes. During the procedure, a small probe delivers gentle laser energy to soft tissues.

After the procedure, you may experience some mild cramping and spotting. You may also feel a little sore or uncomfortable. Your provider may recommend you refrain from sexual activity for two-three days. Generally, patients can return to normal activities afterwards. Your provider will determine a post-procedure regimen that is right for you.

You will typically need to have 3 MonaLisa Touch treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. You may also need to have maintenance treatments every 6-12 months.
