Botox for Overactive Bladder
If your overactive bladder has not responded to other treatments, your Provider may recommend Botox injections.
How does Botox for the Bladder Work?
Botox injections work by relaxing the muscles of the bladder, which can help reduce the frequency and urgency of urination.
Botox injections are done in a doctor's office. Your physician will use a small scope to inject the medication directly into the bladder muscle.
After the Procedure
Most women can resume their normal activities immediately. It may take up to four weeks to notice symptom relief from Botox.
It is important to discuss the risks and benefits with your UroGynecologist before undergoing this treatment.
